? What is SOHO ? 什么是在家上班族 ? The modern concept of small office/home office, or SOHO, refers to the category of business, which can be from 1 to 10 workers. SOHO can also stand for small or home office or single office/home office. A larger business enterprise, one notch up the size scale, is often categorized as a small business. When a company reaches 100 or more employees, it is often referred to as a Small and Medium-sized Enterprise (SME). ? A home office emerged in the mid-1990s, the advent of the personal computer, and breakthroughs in voice and data communication, created opportunities for office workers to decentralize. Decentralization also benefits employers, in lower overhead, and in many cases, greater productivity. ? At the end of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st, the term “Small or Home Office” and its variants ―along with the acronym “SOHO”― have been used to a great extent by companies who market products targeting the great numbers of small businesses that have a tiny or medium sized office.Several ranges of products, such as the Armoire desk and a few other desk forms, are often designed specifically for the “SOHO” market.? ?
